Overview

This page explains the steps to upgrade Pleasanter from Community Edition to Enterprise Edition.

Cautions

When you upgrade to Enterprise Edition, the behaviour is as follows.

  1. The license becomes a commercial license. You can check this from "Help" - "Version" on the navigation menu.
  2. You can expand the number of columns available for each column type, such as classification columns and numeric columns.
  3. An upper limit on the number of registered users is set according to the annual support service plan you contracted, and you cannot register users beyond that limit.
  4. Pleasanter Extensions (Development Tools, Operations Tools, Pleasanter Code Assist) become available.
Note that when you use MySQL as the database, there are restrictions on the use of Pleasanter Extensions. For details, refer to "Database Limitations".

Outline of the Steps

  1. Preparing Pleasanter
    1. Upgrading the version of Pleasanter
    2. Installing Pleasanter
  2. Placing the license file
  3. Editing the Dockerfiles
  4. Checking the upgrade
  5. Expanding the columns

Operation Procedure

1. Preparing Pleasanter

When you upgrade a Pleasanter you already use as Community Edition to Enterprise Edition, follow "1-1. Upgrading the version of Pleasanter". When you upgrade to Enterprise Edition together with a new installation of Pleasanter, follow "1-2. Installing Pleasanter".

1-1. Upgrading the version of Pleasanter

Before the upgrade, upgrade the version following the steps in our online manual.
"Upgrade the version of Pleasanter of a Docker image"

If you do not already operate an "app_data_parameters" folder
When you upgrade the version following the steps in "Upgrade the version of Pleasanter of a Docker image", be sure to refer to "2. Adding the app_data_parameters folder and so on" and add or edit the Docker-related resources shown below.
 - Add the app_data_parameters folder (add an empty app_data_parameters folder even when there are no folders or files to put in it)
 - Create the CodeDefiner folder and the CodeDefiner/Dockerfile file
 - Create the Pleasanter folder and the Pleasanter/Dockerfile file
 - Edit the .env file
 - Edit the compose.yaml file

1-2. Installing Pleasanter

Install Pleasanter following the steps in our online manual and confirm that the login screen is displayed.

  • When you use PostgreSQL
"Start with a Docker image with parameters changed from the default values"
  • Deploy an empty app_data_parameters folder even when there are no folders or files to put in it.

  • When you use MySQL
"Start with a Docker image with MySQL specified as the DB"

2. Placing the License File

  1. Stop the container. Run the following command.

    docker compose stop

  2. Copy the "Implem.License.dll" included in the license pack into the same folder as the .env file and the compose.yaml file.

3. Editing the Dockerfiles

  1. Edit CodeDefiner/Dockerfile with the following content.

    FROM implem/pleasanter:codedefiner

    COPY app_data_parameters/ /app/Implem.Pleasanter/App_Data/Parameters/
    COPY Implem.License.dll .
    ENTRYPOINT [ "dotnet", "Implem.CodeDefiner.dll" ]

  2. Edit Pleasanter/Dockerfile with the following content.

    ARG VERSION=latest
    FROM implem/pleasanter:${VERSION}

    COPY app_data_parameters/ App_Data/Parameters/
    COPY Implem.License.dll .
    ENTRYPOINT [ "dotnet", "Implem.Pleasanter.dll" ]

4. Checking the Upgrade

  1. Run the following command to rebuild the container image.

    docker compose build

  2. Run the following command to recreate and restart the container upgraded to Enterprise Edition.

    docker compose up -d pleasanter

  3. Access it with a browser.
    http://localhost:50001

  4. Log in to Pleasanter and check the following from "Help" - "Version" on the navigation menu.
     - That the license is "Commercial License"
     - That the license period is correct (for a license that runs to the end of February, 3/1 is displayed)
     - That the licensee is correct

5. Expanding the Columns

In Community Edition, 26 columns are available for each of Class, Numeric Value, Date, Description, Check and Attachments, 156 columns in total, but in Enterprise Edition you can expand the columns.

DB Upper Limit of Columns Available in Enterprise Edition Remarks
PostgreSQL Up to 900 in total across the six column types
MySQL Up to 256 in total across the six column types MySQL can be used with Pleasanter ver1.4.9.0 and later.

When you expand the columns, follow the steps in Column Expansion Procedure (using Docker).
